Organic cress oil, cold-pressed

A wholesome oil for the lovers of intensive flavours

The cress is quite widely known from the kitchen. What is less known is the fact that the tiny seeds of the cress yield an amazingly delicious oil through cold pressing. Here at Pödör, we produce our cress oil from top quality cress seeds, coming exclusively from ecological farming.

The valuable seeds are thoroughly cleaned and then pressed cold. The result is our premium quality cress oil, allowing the taste and effect of its components to fully develop. Its golden yellow colour and its particularly intensive fragrance is a testimony to its uniqueness.

Uses for organic, cold-pressed cress oil

Make sure you do not heat the healthy and valuable cress oil! Use it only cold or lukewarm, since it is only under these conditions that the intense effects of its valuable components can prevail.

The mildly pungent, characteristic taste of the cress, slightly reminiscent of horseradish, can be best exploited in salads, soups, hot garnishes and mayonnaise. It will lend a truly fresh flavour to your wholesome dishes.

Positive effects of organic cress oil

Cress oil contains polyunsaturated alpha-linolenic acid, which has an anti-inflammatory effect. One of the characteristics of cold-pressed cress seed oil is that it has an optimal proportion of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and as a result, its consumption can reduce cholesterol levels. Also, it has a greatly beneficial effect on the immune system. The omega-3 fatty acids are particularly important for people on a vegetarian or vegan diet since these components tend to be absent from their nutrition. In fact, these fatty acids have an indirect influence on cell metabolism and the human hormone balance; in addition, they strengthen the immune system.
